Use the system for the exact board
Concealed clips, face screws and colour-matched plugs have specific uses. Confirm compatibility with the selected collection, edge profile and framing. A fastener marketed for composite decking is not automatically approved for every board.
Check corrosion exposure and the connection to treated framing. Ask for the specified hardware rather than approving a substitution by appearance.
Treat edges, ends and fascia separately
Board ends, stair edges and borders can need different support and attachment from field boards. Fascia and trim have their own fastening and movement instructions; they should not be installed by copying the walking-surface details.
Plan visible cut ends and access to concealed components. Confirm the permitted edge finish with the manufacturer.
Keep the component list
Record the actual fasteners and trim supplied, along with receipts and installation photos. Ask how an individual board could be removed for future repairs without damaging adjacent pieces.
The profile guide helps identify which board goes where.
