Look at the whole exterior
Place samples beside siding, masonry, doors and railing colours. Review them in morning and afternoon light and in shade. Screens, photography and indoor lighting cannot reliably predict the finished board’s colour.
A subtle colour variation may be welcome over a large area even when it looks uneven in a small sample. Ask to see the collection’s expected pattern and range.
Include comfort in the choice
Assess the planned sun exposure and shade, the texture under footwear and the appearance when wet. Surface temperature depends on product and conditions. Do not select a board solely on a generic claim that one colour or material always stays cool.
Consider reflected heat from nearby glazing and leave room for shade planning in the design.
Record what you approved
Put the brand, collection, colour and profile in the written quotation. Keep the sample identification and agree how substitutions or batch differences will be handled. Use the product shortlist to compare equally specific options.
