CARE & CLIMATE · THE HAUSE DECKING GUIDE

Design for the seasons you actually use.

Consider snow, temperature movement, water and safe winter access.

Put seasonal use in the plan

Tell the designer whether the deck provides an essential winter route, a seasonal lounge or year-round access. Identify snow-storage areas, shade, drains and places where meltwater may refreeze.

Winter performance involves the complete structure and access route. Product choice does not replace appropriate load design, clear drainage and local installation requirements.

Use the installation temperature instructions

Engineered boards move with temperature. The specified gaps and attachment procedures depend on the selected system and conditions during installation. A method remembered from another brand or season may not be suitable.

Ask how winter delivery and installation will be coordinated with the actual product guide, site access and inspection sequence.

Follow the exact snow and ice guidance

Use permitted snow-clearing tools and compatible de-icers. Avoid aggressive scraping and do not assume a product approved for one collection is suitable for another. Ice and snow can make any outdoor route hazardous.

Keep the current care instructions with your handover documents.
